BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhuanet) According to Hong Kong's "Wen Wei Po" report, in recent years, the chain fast food brand McDonald's introduced a self-service ordering machine in the world. However, a recent survey in the United Kingdom found that among the eight McDonald's stores in the sample survey, the self-service ordering machines detected fecal bacteria, causing safety concerns.

The survey was conducted by the Metropolitan University of London microbiologist Matt Villa, who surveyed the health of the self-service meal machine screens at six McDonald's stores in London and Birmingham. The results of the survey showed that all samples were tested for visceral and fecal bacteria.

Experts stress that bacteria can remain on the screen for a few days, calling on customers to wash their hands and then eat after using the automatic ordering machine.

Mattvila was surprised by the results of the survey, pointing out that bacteria such as Enterococcus faecalis are common cause of disease. He also noted that in one of the samples, staphylococci that caused sepsis and toxic shock syndrome were tested.

He stressed that this kind of bacteria can be infected through contact. Once the customer touches the screen with his finger and touches the nose with his hand, he has the chance to be infected and pose a threat to health.

According to reports, the bacteria detected include Listeria, Klebsiella, and the like.

In response, the British McDonald's spokesperson stressed that all the outlets often clean the automatic ordering machine, and there is also a toilet in the store to allow customers to wash their hands before eating.
